TUCKAHOE, N.Y. The Tuckahoe Planning Board is considering three projects all slated to go on a section of Marbledale Road.
Last year, the village changed the zoning of Marbledale Road from industrial to general business paving the way for longstanding businesses located there to make some changes.
Up first was Rocco Cacciola who has owned Rocco's garage for 20 years. Cacciola is planning to sink close to $1 million into his business.
Architect Tom Abillama presented a proposal to the Planning Board that will convert the existing garage into a car wash. A new building for auto repairs would be located behind the car wash.
Abillama said that unlike the car wash located on the corner of Marbledale and Main Street, Cacciola will offer services such as an oil change to go along with the car wash.
The Planning Board held a public hearing on the proposal, but there was no opposition. Abillama must deliver a soil sample to the village for testing before the proposal can be approved.
Up next was were Edwin Quintieri and Richard Pulcino owners of Fleetwood Collision. They would like to move their business across the street with a new state of the art garage and car painting booth.
Their new location would be on property owned by John Seminara. Seminara would like to subdivide the property, for Fleetwood Collision and for his own business Elide Construction.
Seminara said he would fence in the remaining portion of his property and store heavy equipment such as trucks at the location.
The Planning Board could sign off on all of the proposals at the December meeting.
