BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Bronxville Daily Voice has been counting down to the new year by listing, in no particular order, the top stories from 2012. Here is the list:

  • Several incidents of underage drinking in Bronxville resulted in police increasing its patrols, to the tune of $4,000 in overtime.
  • When Hurricane Sandy hit Bronxville in October, it uprooted trees, knocked down electrical lines and left roughly 1,500 residents without power.

  • A gas shortage left Bronxville's Palmer Avenue congested with vehicles forced to wait in traffic for more than an hour. 
  • Bronxville teen James Sinclair Welch, 19, was arrested and charged with negligent vehicular homicide while on vacation in Montana in August.

  • Late last year, Laura Eckley, then-director of the Bronxville Library, sued the village after the Village Board rescinded a salary raise she had been given several months before.

  • This past year brought several celebrities to Bronxville, including Tina Fey to film her upcoming movie, "Admission," and Kevin Bacon, to film the new FOX network drama, "The Following."
