Bronxville Suspends Parking Due To Hurricane Sandy

BRONXVILLE N.Y. — Bronxville will be operating under a state of emergency as a result of Hurricane Sandy starting Monday morning.

The Village Emergency Operation Center will begin operations at 8 a.m. Monday and will remain staffed for the duration of the storm, Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale said Sunday. The use and enforcement of parking meters will be be temporarily suspended until further notice.

Residents living in low-lying or flood-prone locations are encouraged to move their vehicles to any of the following locations: Kraft Avenue parking lot closest to People's United Bank; Kraft Avenue, both sides from People's United Bank to Park Place; Kensington Lower Parking Lot behind One Podfield Road medical building; Sagamore Road, on both sides; 110 Parkway Road Parking Lot opposite the Avalon Complex; and Pondfield Road.

Residents can contact the emergency center at 914-337-0508. Medical, fire and police emergencies should be reported by calling 911. Power outages should be reported directly to Con Edison.
