BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Bronxville residents who don't have power are urged to call Con Edison and report their situation.

Every power outage should be reported directly to Con Ed to ensure a proper response, said Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale.

“We continue to work closely with Con Edison to inspect downed wires,” said Satriale in a statement. “We have found several wires still energized and continue to urge residents to exercise caution if they must be out. Once the power to the wires is cut we will remove trees and branches blocking roadways and sidewalks."

Satriale said that process will likely take at least another 24 hours. After that, Con Edison can begin to make repairs to damaged wires before restoring power.

"We do not have an estimate on when power will be restored and we do not expect any estimates until Con Edison can full assess damages throughout the county,” he said.

Satriale said residents should not call the police department to report a power outage. Bronxville residents should call 1-800-75-CONED.
