EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- A Bronxville man was charged with criminal mischief after he drove his car onto the golf course at Siwanoy Golf Club on Monday.
Lt. Jeff Hunter said the Eastchester Police Deparment received a call at 5:30 pm on Dec. 5 stating that a car was parked on the golf course.
Police arrived to find an empty 2006 Mini Cooper that had its hazard lights on. Using the license plate and registration, officers were able to locate the owner.
Charles Lewis , 46 of Bronxville told officers that he was trying to find an exit from the parking lot when he took a wrong turn. Lewis wound up in a drainage ditch located on the fairway near the 8th hole of the course.
Lewis was charged with criminal mischief in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor. He was released on $250 bail. Hunter was not sure when Lewis is due to appear in court again.
In other police news, a Mount Vernon resident was arrested for shop lifting on December 7.
Debo Sohna, 20 of Mt. Vernon was charged with grand larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony. Police were called to Lord and Taylor at 5:15 pm on Wednesday where security officers had Sohna in their custody.
Sohna had placed 34 Polo knit caps in a leather bag. The caps were valued at $39.50 each for a total of $1343. She was released on $500 cash bail and is due back in court on December 14.
