BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Zero sick days in 25 years is nothing to sneeze at, which is why Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin lauded village employee Sergio Papetti at Monday night's Village Board meeting.
Marvin awarded the New York Conference of Mayors Certificate of Public Service to Papetti, who is a member of the village Sanitation Department.
"This is a small token of our appreciation," Marvin said. "On behalf of the Village Board and all of the village, thank you for being a terrific employee."
Papetti, who brought his family along to celebrate, said it was his great honor and pleasure to work for the village.
"Over the years that I have worked here, I have made a lot of friends," Papetti said. "Now it feels like family."
Department of Public Works head Rocco Circosta said Papetti has been a model employee for 25 years.
"He has been a great asset to the department and a great asset to the village," Circosta said.
