Bronxville Jewelers Robbed

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. –  Bronxville Police are continuing to investigate a robbery at Bronxville Jewelers which occurred on November 16.

The manager of the store, located on Kraft Avenue, reported that a man entered the store on Wednesday took two diamond engagement rings, valued at $16,000, and fled on foot. Bronxville Police responded and called in a tracking dog from the Westchester County Department of Public Safety for a search of the area. The canine officer did lead other officers to the Kraft Avenue Parking lot, but the offender was not located. A thorough canvass of the area was conducted by officers and a video surveillance tape from the store has been viewed confirming the suspect's description.

Earlier that day, a 20-year-old Yonkers man was detained by police. According to Sgt Steve Gallo, Lawrence Ryan was cited for operating a motor vehicle in the area of Pondfield Road with a suspended registration. The vehicle's registration was suspended due to prior unpaid parking violations, a misdemeanor. Offiver Lauralee Ulrich was alerted to the suspension via the police license plate reader. Ryan’s Toyota was impounded and he was given several traffic tickets. He is due in Bronxville Court on November 30.
