Bicyclist Struck, Killed Overnight Near I-87 Overpass

YONKERS, N.Y. — A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a four-door sedan in Yonkers, police reported.

Police say the 59-year-old male victim, whose name has not been released, was riding eastbound on Tuckahoe Road when the incident occurred around midnight Saturday near the northbound ramp on I-87 under the overpass.

No other vehicles were involved, according to police. The operator of the sedan remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigators. No charges were filed and this appears to have been an accident

The bicyclist was transported to a local trauma center and subsequently pronounced dead. The man is a Bronx resident and next of kin notifications are still being made, police said late Saturday morning.
