Accidents and Construction Affect County Roadways

PELHAM, N.Y. – Several county highways had closures Monday morning due to accidents and construction.An accident occurred early Monday morning on I-95 northbound at Exit 19, Playland Parkway, according to the New York State Thruway Authority.Road maintenance operations have closed the right shoulder on I-287 westbound from just after Exit 12, New York City, to just before I-95 north until 4 p.m. Road maintenance operations have also closed the right lane on I-95 southbound from after Exit 22, Midland Avenue, to just before the Connecticut state line until 4 p.m.The right lane of I-87 is closed southbound from after the Yonkers toll barrier to just before Exit 7, Route 9A, until 3 p.m. because of road maintenance operations.An accident occurred early Monday morning on I-287 at Exit 2, Saw Mill River Road.The right lane of I-87 southbound is closed from after the Tappan Zee Bridge toll to just before Exit 10, US 9W, because of maintenance operations on the Tappan Zee Bridge.All northbound lanes on the Hutchinson River Parkway will be closed nightly until Thursday from Exit 7, US 1, to Exit 13, Cross County Parkway, from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
