BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Members of The Chapel School community in Bronxville recently volunteered to help homeless people in New York City.
Through the “Midnight Run” held Friday, May 1, faculty and staff members delivered more than 300 meals to people living on the streets, according to a press release.
The school’s kindergarten through eighth grade students helped in the effort by donating items and putting together bags of food and toiletry kits for the adults to deliver in New York City.
“It is an honor to be able to serve with friends and to share with those in need,” Kate Marino, a music teacher at The Chapel School and youth minister at Village Lutheran Church, said in a press release.
“There is so much we all take for granted. It really opens your eyes when you realize how much of a difference just a small sandwich can make.”
The Chapel School community participates in the Midnight Runs twice yearly.
