Marble Schoolhouse Hosts Eastchester Historical Society Annual Dinner

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — The Eastchester Historical Society had its annual dinner at the 180-year old Marble Schoolhouse Friday, Sept. 18.

Virginia Hefti of Greenknolls in Eastchester was honored with the first-ever Eastchester Covenant Award for her genealogy work, inspired by her lineage which can be traced back to one of the town's founding families, the Fowlers.

She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Westchester County Genealogical Society.

On top of the presentation, 100 guests enjoyed a cocktail dinner joined by Rockland County resident Jack Sherry as Ben Franklin, complete with kite.
