“I was waiting all summer for this,” said one student.

“Me too. I am so excited,” said another. “This is going to be so much fun!”

Lunch Bunches are a time for students to relax, converse, play games and form new friendships.

“I enjoy the lunch bunches as much as the students do,” said Price. She visits each classroom twice a month for lessons and the opportunity to get to know all her students.

Price's classroom lessons focus on areas such as friendship skills, self-control, respecting others and appreciating differences, responsibility, effective communication, bullying, managing emotions and the importance of kindness.

She delivers lessons using Smartboard presentations, short videos, age appropriate books, discussions and hands-on activities. Price plans to incorporate Kimochis into her lessons for lower elementary classes. Kimochis are plush toys and pillows with faces representing different emotions.
