BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Kathleen "Kay" T. Gagan, a longtime resident of Bronxville, died May 20 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was 92.
She was born Oct. 15, 1919 in Clifton, N.J., to Patrick and Katherine Ring, natives of Ireland. Gagan was raised in Brooklyn. She married Frederick J. Schramm in 1944 and they lived in Bronxville and raised four children. He died in 1961.
In 1971, she married Thomas A. Gagan. He died in 1980.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville and was active in the Mothers' Club. She volunteered at Lawrence Hospital for more than 40 years.
Gagan owned Flair For Fashion in the 1960s and was active in the Bronxville Senior Citizens and the Senior Citizens Council. She was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Grant, of New York City, and Mary Liz (William H., Jr.) Mulligan, of Bronxville; two sons, Frederick J. (Lise) Schramm, Jr., of Bronxville, and Raymond E. Schramm, of Pelham; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Hugh Andrew Grant, Jr.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home in Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
