Seeded by Vicki and Si Ford in 2006, the gallery has brought art exhibitions, lectures, workshops and programing to the campus and the community. Also housed within the gallery is the OSilas Art Studio, which offers private and small-group art classes for children and adults.

The annual START exhibition of regional high schools is one of the most highly regarded student exhibitions in the region, showcasing about 90 student artists each year.

Since the gallery was completed, over 30 major museum-quality exhibitions have been held, along with many student exhibitions.

Among the highlights are "The Bronze Age: Rodin & the Methods of a Master," which displayed the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation's collection of Auguste Rodin's portrait sculpture.

More recently, the gallery hosted "Legacies, Landmarks and Achievements," celebrating the 350th anniversary of Eastchester, and "The Business of Art: Selections from the Collection of BNY Mellon."

A special exhibition titled "Season X: Celebrating a Decade." is planned for this fall. It will be designed to serve as a reunion for past exhibitions. Artists and collectors from every major exhibition since 2006 are being asked to submit a newly created or collected work so that visitors can see how their art or collection has evolved over the years.

The gallery is planning to create a catalog in which artists and collectors will discuss what has changed since they last showed work in OSilas. Also planned for this coming year are an exhibition and art sale in November showcasing work by local artists and, in the spring, an exhibition titled "Heroes and Villains!"

The name "OSilas" is a combination of Olivia (Vicki) and Si Ford – OSilas.
