The Eastchester Little League 12-and-under girls softball team routed Harrison 14-4 in a five inning mercy to claim the District 20 championship, clinching an undefeated season

Led by top pitchers Maya DiNapoli and Bailey Hunn, who only allowed five runs throughout the entire District 20 championship tournament, the Eastchester team is set to carry their momentum into Sectionals, which kick off at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday at Brentwood Park Field in Harrison.

Behind Manager Frank DiNapoli and assistants Joe Porcello and Joe Comizio, the Eastchester 12-and-under team brought the second district title to the town in three years, following in the footsteps of their male counterparts who claimed a District 20 championship of their own in 2012.

While DiNapoli and Hunn stole the show with their stellar showings on the mound, the offense was sparked by key hits from Sophia Crowley, Taryn Comizio and Angelina Porcello. Other contributors to the district crown include Sophia Lotto, Kylie Murray, Margaret O’Hare, Danielle Pisacreta, Stephanie Tiso, Grace Torre, Lauren Mazzella, Justine Ruvolo and Sabrina Rocco.
