High school art teachers Rachel Sydlowski and Dorothy Johnson recently attended Augushi's thesis show at the Parsons School of Design, one of the seven colleges of The New School, where he will receive a bachelor of fine arts in product design.

Augushi specializes in three-dimensional programs, Adobe Illustrator, wood working and metal fabrication. For his final project, he designed a series of maze-based toys for children with interchangeable, skill level-based facades.

Sydlowski, who had Augushi as a student in several high school classes, says, “Ken has a unique vision as an artist and designer. Watching his personal voice develop during his time here at the high school and then at Parsons has been very rewarding. Ken is such as positive and honest person. His artwork mirrors his personality and people respond to that.”

The young maze artist and product designer notes on his website that, “Mazes can be an aesthetic form for people to understand their personal experiences, challenges, meditations and naturally achieve their accomplishments.”
