BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Robert S. Cole of Bronxville died Nov. 30 following a battle with cancer. He was 72.
The co-owner of Cole Communications in Bronxville, he provided public relations services to many Westchester business and non-profits. He began the firm in 1994 with his wife, Susan.
Cole began his career as a reporter and sports columnist for the New York Daily News. He taught at St. John's and Pace University as an adjunct professor of marketing and public relations. Cole previously headed public relations departments at New York Bankers Association, Bank of America and Chase Manhattan.
A steering committee member of the Westchester Disability Advocacy Partnership, Cole was also a former board member of the American Association of People with Disabilities and President Obama's Disability Advisory Committee in 2008.
He is survived by his wife Susan, his son Peter, his daughter Debra, his brother Sid and three grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Dec. 2 at Weinstein's Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the American Association of People with Disabilities , 1629 K Street NW, Suite 950, Washington, DC 20006.
