Cheftini Cooks with Bronxville and Tuckahoe Seniors

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Tuckahoe native Tina DiLeo learned to cook at a young age from her Italian mother and is the face behind the Cheftini and Biscotina brands.

On April 9, "Cheftini" herself will give a free cooking demonstration to seniors in an event co-sponsored by Gramatan VIllage and Tuckahoe Senior Citizens.

“Many seniors feel overwhelmed with complicated recipes, so I have designed an easy menu so they can cook for just one or two people, without using too many ingredients,” says DiLeo. The demonstration's menu will include French toast muffins, cannoli made with Greek yogurt and spinach fritatta sandwiches. Participants will be able to sample the food and receive copies of the recipes as well as gifts from sponsors Nature Box and Flatout Bread.

Cheftini's Breakfast Bonanza will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tuckahoe Senior Center at the Church of Assumption. The event is free for Westchester senior citizens, but reservations are required.
