Carl D'Angelo, 70, Bronxville Businessman

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Carl D'Angelo, 70, died April 4 at his home in Bronxville. 

He was born in New York on Jan. 25, 1942, the only son of Ada and Archangelo “Carl” D'Angelo. Raised in the Morris Park section of Bronx, N.Y. with his sisters Louise Caranella and Lillian Davin, D'Angelo loved playing baseball and riding horses with his many friends in the neighborhood.  

After graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School, D'Angelo joined the US Marine Corps. He then attended City College of New York and New York University, majoring in business. D'Angelo found his niche in the transportation business, where he owned and ran multiple businesses during his 40-year career in the industry.  

In 1985, he met his wife Donna Acunto D'Angelo and they were married in St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York three years later. They then settled in Bronxville, where they lived together for 24 years. 

D'Angelo is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Jodi; a son, Carl; three grandchildren and 19 godchildren. 

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Stand Up 2 Cancer.
