Bronxville Resident Named 'Rising Star' By Business Council Of Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A Bronxville resident has been named as one of the county’s “best and brightest” by the Business Council of Westchester.

Christine La Porta, the Deputy Executive Director of the Westchester Parks Foundation has been named among the BCW’s 2017 Class of Rising Stars, “a diverse and highly talented group representing an impressive array of professions,” officials said.

A graduate of Stonehill College and NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service, La Porta joined the Westchester Parks Foundation five years ago after spending more than a decade in operations and project management in financial, government and not-for-profit sectors.

La Porta now “oversees the day-to-day operations of the nonprofit organization and provides leadership on many of its signature programs,” including Westchester’s annual Winter Wonderland, Bicycle Sundays, Trails Advocacy and other special county events.

In addition to overseeing several county projects and the Parks Foundation, La Porta also serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Bronxville Beautification Council. She will be honored on June 15 with other winners on June 15 at a reception at 800 Westchester Avenue in Rye Brook.
