Bridges To Community To Honor Bronxville Philanthropist At Annual Dinner

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Bridges to Community will hold their Annual Leadership Dinner at Abigail Kirsch's Tappan Hill Mansion on Thursday, April 28.

Bronxville resident Lisa Kunstadter will receive the Outstanding Vision and Commitment to Action Award. The award honors individuals who have made a significant impact in assisting the developing world.

“For over 40 years Lisa Kunstadter has been committed to social justice and equal opportunity," stated Executive Director John Hannan. "As a member of the Bridges Board, Lisa has left an indelible imprint on the organization."

The following 12 educators will receive the Excellence in Service and Education Award: Jim Agnello (Bronxville High School), Dave Albano (Fox Lane High School), Alison Doernberg (Rye Country Day School), Katie Hluchyj (Hartford High School), David Jones (St. Anne’s Belfield School), Ellen Mulvihill (Hanover High School), Luann Ricciardi (Irvington High School), Tom Rizzotti (John Jay High School), Grace Saravia (St. Pauls School), Diane Sarna (Fox Lane High School), Duane Smith (Byram Hills High School) and Anne Wassen (French American School). 

“We are so grateful for the contributions of our education awardees that represent a team of educators who have been bringing students on Bridges’ trips for more than a decade, transforming them into agents of positive social change locally and globally," said Bridges Board Chair Stacy Brandom. 

Proceeds from a silent auction at the dinner will benefit community development projects in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

The dinner will start at 6:30 p.m.

Bridges to Community is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished communities in developing countries through volunteer service trips.
