In conjunction with the exhibit that will run through Nov. 27, some 43 Bronxville businesses, including restaurants, shops, services and organizations, will feature French-theme meals, stores with French merchandise, performances of French music, classes such as The Art of French Entertaining and more.

“Having an exhibition of this caliber in Bronxville is incredibly thrilling,” Bronxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Susan Miele said in a prepared statement. “Community businesses are planning very creative ways to pay tribute to this important event so that gallery-goers can enjoy both the exhibition and the many benefits of Bronxville.”

The sculptures are on loan from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation. Also featured will be ten models displaying Rodin’s casting of the renowned sculpture Sorrow, on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

In conjunction with this exhibition, OSilas Gallery will offer several special events, including a demonstration of the historic “lost wax casting process” that Rodin’s used; a day trip to the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia (in partnership with The Bronxville Adult School); and a birthday party in honor of what would have been Rodin’s 173rd birthday--which will include a raffle drawing.
