At Lawrence, registered dietitian Katie Campbell guides individuals to a healthier lifestyle through positive food choices and behavior modification. She considers important factors such as lifestyle, physical conditions and food preferences when creating a realistic, individualized eating plan. Campbell has been creating tasty and nutritious food plans for years, which is the focus of this year's National Nutrition Month. National Nutrition Month started in 1973 as National Nutrition Week. It turned into a month-long observance in 1980 in response to the population's growing interest in nutrition. During the month, Lawrence Hospital will be holding “Enjoying the Taste of Eating Right” lectures, which will be held on Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. in either the Lobby Conference Room or Palmer Hall’s 3rd floor Conference Room. • Thursday March 19: “Gone Coconuts?” The truth behind the many health claims of this tropical fruit.
  • Thursday, March 27: “Does Cutting Out Gluten Mean Cutting Down Your Waist Size?” An in-depth review of gluten allergies and sensitivities, diseases related to gluten intolerance, latest research and its use as a diet plan.
