BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Concordia College-New York has named Bronxville resident Elizabeth Vranka as its new executive director for the OSilas Gallery and Art Studio, on Concordia's Bronxville campus.

Vranka has been a member of the gallery's advisory board since 2013 and has served as its chair since spring 2015. She stepped into her new role last week.

Vranka will be responsible for increasing the gallery's profile in southern Westchester, working with the advisory board to continue to bring high-quality exhibits, developing programming and special events related to the exhibits, and growing the gallery's membership and art studio's enrollment.

Vranka and her family have lived in Bronxville since 2006. She's a lawyer by training and worked in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore as a corporate lawyer. She's also been active with several nonprofits and St. Gregory the Enlightener Armenian Apostolic Church, where she teaches Sunday school.

She brings her leadership, project execution and fundraising skills -- as well as her love of art and commitment to community -- to her new position. Vranka has a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a law degree from Boston University School of Law.

The mission of the OSilas Gallery is "to integrate the visual arts into the cultural and educational life of the campus and community by providing quality exhibitions and programs that are diverse in style, content, and media; memorable, thought-provoking, and spiritually enriching; and of artistic originality, integrity, and excellence," its website notes.

The OSilas Gallery is in the Donald A. Krenz Academic Center, on the second level of Scheele Memorial Library, on Concordia College’s Bronxville campus. Its exhibits, lectures, receptions and films are free and open to public -- and reservations are generally not required, unless otherwise noted. Free parking is also available on campus.
