BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Some Bronxville residents are heading to their nearest lottery vendor as lottery officials prepare to draw numbers for a record-setting $320 million jackpot at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday.
“Really, $320 million?” asked Jason Wynland of Bronxville at the Starbucks on Park Place. “I can use that kind of cash. I’m heading out now to get a ticket.”
The prize is Powerball's fourth-biggest annuity prize ever and has a cash value of $213.3 million.
“I play all the time, I just never get lucky,” said Mike Pelucco, 62, of Bronxville. “I hope someone wins it, though. It’ll change anyone’s life. Hopefully its me.”
The chance of winning the jackpot is 1 in 175,223,510, according to the New York State Lottery, and the prize will increase if no one wins Wednesday's drawing. Powerball drawings take place Wednesdays and Saturdays.
