All summer long, "Team Chapel" has been busy pounding the pavement - both literally and figuratively - as they spent weeks training for the race while simultaneously running a fundraiser that has net nearly $10,000.

With less than two weeks to go before the illustrious race on Sunday, Nov. 6, "Team Chapel's" CrowdRise fundraiser has net $9,051 of its stated $15,000 goal.

As the race gets closer, Team Chapel is ramping up their fundraising efforts, with all five members pledging to raise at least $3,000 before the race. Donations are still being accepted online.

Team Chapel is comprised of parents Nathan and Katrina Linn, running enthusiast Carlos Juarez, Jim Burkee, the Vice Provost of Graduate and Online Academics at Concordia College, newcomer Lisa Scaramuzzo-Jones and Dmytro Yaskal, who has completed various half marathons.

“The Chapel School is thrilled to partner with the TCS New York City Marathon as an official charity partner,” the school’s Development Office Project Manager Kim Zwisdak said in a statement. “The (marathon) provides a powerful platform for our passionate charity runners to fundraise and raise awareness for causes that are close to their hearts.

“We are looking forward to supporting our runners throughout their memorable journeys as they train for, and ultimately achieve, their goal of completing this race, all while raising critical funds which benefit the Chapel School’s Scholarship Fund.”
