What To Do In Bronxville This Weekend

Friday, Oct. 19

Open Mike Night: 8 p.m. A chance for writers and musicians of all kinds to perform. The event costs $3, and registration is at 7:30 p.m. Hudson Valley Writers' Center, 300 Riverside Drive, Sleepy Hollow.

Doctor Gasp Concert: 8 p.m. It's the 10th annual Halloween special "Misshapen Jack-O-Lantern Tour." Doctor Gasp will perform his traditional folk songs that are perfect for the Halloween season. The concert is free. Coffee Labs, 7 Main St., Tarrytown.

Saturday, Oct. 20

Sleepy Hollow Halloween 10K: 9:30 a.m. It's the 3rd annual Sleepy Hallow Halloween 10K race. Celebrate Halloween with a run through Sleepy Hallow's historic sites and along the Hudson River. Acrobatic Performance: 8 p.m. This Chinese acrobatic touring company will perform acrobat traditions from 25 centuries ago. The performance costs $22 for adults, $20 for students, seniors and staff, and $16 for children under 13 and Westchester Community College students. Sunday, Oct. 21

Taconic Opera: 2 p.m. The Taconic Opera presents Boito's Mefistofele, based on the story of Faust. It's a story of lust, love and redemption as Faust struggles between good and evil. The opera costs between $15 and $57 . Yorktown Stage, 1974 Commerce St, Yorktown Heights.

Halloween-themed reading: 4:30 p.m. Novelist Terry Rich Bazes will read from Lizard World and readers from Aim for the Head: An Anthology of Zombie Poetry. The event costs $3. Hudson Valley Writers' Center 300 Riverside Drive, Sleepy Hollow.
