What To Do In Bronxville This Week

Monday, Oct. 15

Renard Lecture Series: 10:30 a.m. The series provides classes in the arts, literature, theater, philosophy, current events and life trends for adults 55 years and older. The event is free. JCC on the Hudson, 371 S. Broadway, Tarrytown.

Bronxville Rotary Club Meeting: Noon. The event is free and open to the public. 1122-60 Kraft Ave, Bronxville.

Nature Bugs Class: 1:30 p.m. Children 2 to 5 years old can see an animal up close, hear a story and play a nature game. The class costs $5. Dress for outdoor activity. Greenburgh Nature Center, 99 Dromore Road, Greenburgh.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

Victor LaValle Reading: 2 p.m. A reading with Victor LaValle, author of "Lucretia and the Kroons" and "The Devil in Silver." The reading is free. Sarah Lawrence College/Slonim Living Room, 1 Mead Way.

Donald P. Green Lecture: 3:30 p.m. Don Green is the author of four books that revolve around voting behavior, partisanship, campaign finance and research methods. The lecture is free. Sarah Lawrence College/Esther Raushenbush Library Meeting Room, 1 Mead Way.

Wednesday, Oct. 17:

Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting: 7 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Yeager Community Room, Bronxville Library, 201 Pondfield Road. For more information, call 914-337-7680, ext. 30.

Ang Li Piano Concert: 7 p.m. Hear Ang Li play Schubert, Brahms and Chopin. Proceeds from the concert will go to the United Way's community programs in Putnam and Westchester. The event costs $50 for adults, $15 for students. Music Conservatory of Westchester, 216 Central Ave., White Plains.

A Reading With Justin Taylor: 2 p.m. Justin Taylor is the author of the story collection "Everything Here Is the Best Thing Ever" and the novel "The Gospel of Anarchy." The reading is free. Sarah Lawrence College/Slonim Living Room, 1 Mead Way.

Author Da Chen: 7 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library will host New York Times best-selling author Da Chen. Chen will talk about his new book, "My Last Empress." The event is free, but registration is required. To register call 914-961-2121. Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Thursday, Oct. 18:

Writers Guild of America Panel Discussion: 6:30 p.m. Professional writers will engage in a discussion of their experiences in working with returning veterans and their families. The panel is free. Donnelley Film Theatre in the Heimbold Visual Arts Center, Sarah Lawrence College, 1 Mead Way.

Board of Education Meeting: 7 p.m. The Board of Education of the Bronxville Union Free School District will hold its October meeting in the Trustees Room, Village Hall, 200 Pondfield Road, Bronxville. The meeting is open to the public.
