Scarsdale Music School Concert Features Violist Naomi Graf

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Hoff-Barthelson Music School’s HB Artist Series presents Naomi Graf on viola as the featured artist for An Evening of Chamber Music on Friday, March 4, at Greenville Community Church.

The concert will feature works by Bach, Mozart and Hindemith. Graf will be joined by fellow Hoff-Barthelson Music School faculty members Rie Matsumoto on piano and Eriko Sato on violin. The program will include J.S. Bach’s Sonata No. 1 in G Major for Viola and Piano; Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio for Violin, Viola and Piano, KV 498; and Hindemith’s lyrical Sonate for Viola and Piano, Op. 11, No. 4.

Graf performs a wide variety of programs as a chamber musician, recital soloist and orchestral musician. She is a member of the faculty of Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, where she is also the director of chamber music, for strings, and the director of the Viola Clubs.

Graf currently performs with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, as well as in New York City in venues that include Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She has also performed as principal violist for the Connecticut Grand Opera Orchestra and at numerous festivals.

The 2015-16 HB Artist Series consists of 19 recitals by faculty members in solo performance or with chamber ensembles composed of other faculty members and guest artists. Hoff-Barthelson Music School has achieved national recognition as a premier community music school for its unsurpassed leadership in education, performance and outreach for more than half a century.

General recital admission is $18, $15 for seniors 65 and older, and free for HBMS students and students ages 18 and younger. Tickets to a series of three recitals are available at a reduced rate.
