Rye Brook Resident Shows Art In Bronxville

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Bronxville Women's Club artist of the month for February is Rye Brook resident Ying Chen. 

Chen was born in Shanghai, China in 1981, and began studying both Chinese painting and oil painting at the age of four. She came to the United States in 2005 for graduate study at Carnegie Mellon University, and now lives in Rye Brook, N.Y., with her husband and young son.

All sales will be split between the Bronxville Women's Club for repairs, and with Chen's church. The paintings at the show are either oil or oil pastels on paper, and are mostly landscapes.

The reception on Sunday was super and festive as Ying,her friends, relatives, and other art enthusiasts all started celebrating the beginning of the Chinese New Year at her reception. The paintings are beautiful, and I hope everyone comes by the BWC to view them.
