BRONXVILLE N.Y. - Families and children are invited to attend a flute concert inspired by the story of Rapunzel at the Bronxville Public Library Friday at 2 p.m.

The Green Golly Project presents "Green Golly and Her Golden Flute," a take on the story of Rapunzel and how Green Golly was inspired to create music.

The group was created eight years ago after flute professor Barbara Siesel and Keith Torgan noticed that the audience for classical music was declining.

"I quit my job because I noticed that the field of classical music was really struggling," said Siesel. "I had met Keith, and we decided to create a group that could reach kids and expose them to the music. We've seen fantastic reactions because, when the music is paired with interactive stories, the kids just get mesmerized."

The show is a 2012 Parents' Choice Gold Award winner, and is open to children ages 4 and up. Reservations are required  to attend. To buy tickets, call 914-337-7680, ext. 34.
