The event will be from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck.

Picture House co-founder Ann Sorice and filmmaker Matthew Heineman will be this year’s honorees at the fundraiser commemorating the tenth anniversary of the purchase of the 1921 theater.

“Ten years ago, when concerned citizens bought the 1921 Pelham Picture House, they had a vision of an innovative film center for Southern Westchester and the Bronx, providing the best in independent, documentary and international cinema — plus a robust film education program for students of all ages,” said Laura deBuys, Picture House executive director. “Today, thanks to the efforts and contributions of members and supporters, that vision has become a reality.

“More than 30,000 people see over 150 films a year at The Picture House Regional Film Center and, through our education classes and workshops, over 1,000 students of all ages learn about the beauty, wonder and power of film. We can’t wait to see what the next decade will bring," continued deBuys.

“Ann Sorice was one of those concerned and ardent citizens,” added James Palmisciano, Picture House board chair.  “We’re promising short speeches and lots of fun at the party — but we are excited about honoring the enormous contribution Ann has made, not only to arts and culture in Westchester, but to the local economy as a whole, by spearheading this incredible project.”

Sorice will receive the Harold Lloyd Commitment to Community Award at the event.

Heineman, who will receive the Harold Lloyd Next Generation Filmmaker Award, is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker based in New York, who just won the 2015 Sundance Film Festival award for best directing of a U.S. documentary for his film “Cartel Land.”

The Tenth! will kick-off with cocktails overlooking the Sound, followed by dinner, auctions and dancing.

Space is limited. Tickets to The Tenth! start at $250 per person and are available for purchase here or by calling (914)-738-3161. Various sponsorship levels are available and businesses and individuals may provide additional support for the event by purchasing an ad in the event journal.

The Picture House is at 175 Wolfs Lane, Pelham.
