NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence's top physicians will be conducting free health screenings, including body-mass index, blood pressure, vein and sleep screenings.
The day will also feature dancing for the whole family, fitness assessments courtesy of sponsor Fitness Together, a nutrition game for children, a healthy cooking demonstration by Mulino's chef, yoga instruction courtesy of sponsor Bronxville's Yoga Haven, kickboxing, a performance by the Eastchester High School Jazz Company, goodies and prizes from Whole Foods Market in Yonkers and SoulCycle.
“This event calls attention to the importance of staying active and eating well in order to reduce one’s risk for heart disease and other problems,” said Danielle LeStrange, Lawrence's director of Emergency Nursing and Clinical Outreach. “It’s our pleasure to host a program that helps families get out of the house on a cold, winter’s day to exercise, learn how to get heart healthy, and enjoy a day of fun together.”
The price is $15 per adult and $5 for children under 12. For more information, click here. To register, call 914-787-1034.
