Hoff-Barthelson in Scarsdale Presents Trio of Musicians

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Hoff-Barthelson Music School’s HB Artist Series presents the Oracle Trio Sunday, March 20 at Greenville Community Church in Scarsdale.

Hoff-Barthelson faculty members, April Johnson, violin and Peter Seidenberg, cello will perform a program of chamber music with Kate Boyd, piano.

The program includes: David Macdonald’s Four Pieces for Violin, Cello and Piano; Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Trio élégiaque in G minor, No. 1; Toru Takemitsu’s Between Tides; and the Finale - Allegro assai appassionato from Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49. 

Admission to the recital is $18, $15 for seniors (65-plus) and free to Hoff-Barthelson students and students 18 and younger.

Tickets to a series of three recitals are available at a reduced rate. Tickets can be ordered by calling (914) 723-1169 or emailing hb@hbms.org, and are available for purchase at the door. 

The Oracle Trio has been a featured ensemble at the Heidelberg New Music Festival, the Ohio and Indiana Music Teachers’ Association state conferences, and on concert series at numerous universities and music schools. 

The 2015-2016 HB Artist Series comprises 19 recitals by faculty members in solo performance or with chamber ensembles composed of other faculty members and guest artists. 

The March 20 recital is at 5 p.m. at Greenville Community Church, 270 Ardsley Road, Scarsdale, N.Y.
