BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Rock vocalist and lyricist Jesse Leach, lead singer for the popular metal band Killswitch Engage, will appear at Concordia College in Bronxville on Tuesday, March 1.
Named Entertainer of the Year in England, Leach has a much-copied vocal style and will engage the audience with dynamic musical demonstrations, conversation and videos. He has toured the globe and has entertained audiences from Europe to Africa, Russia, Japan, Thailand and China, and is credited with being one of the pioneers of the metal subgenre metalcore.
His lyrics are influenced by his life experiences as a Christian. Killswitch Engage has sold more than 4 million records in the U.S. and is an American metalcore band that has released six albums and one DVD. The band's upcoming seventh album, "Incarnate," is scheduled for release on Friday, March 11, and is one of Rolling Stone magazine's 25 Most Anticipated Metal Albums of 2016.
The group rose to fame with its album "The End of Heartache," the title track of which was nominated for a Grammy Award.
