The EIASC Journal will use green, sustainable online technology instead of printing, officials said. The virtual journal "brings added value to advertisers so they can reach many more prospective customers online, 24/7, 365 days a year without the limitations of printed journals, many of which are left behind at the festival or get lost at home," said John Collins, president, EIASC.

"An online journal ad lets you click directly to an advertiser's website. More customers, even in Ireland and all around the world can access the EIASC Journal on our website. Now advertisers’ dollars go further, while we lessen our carbon footprint,” Collins said.

“The Eastchester Environmental Committee congratulates the Eastchester Irish American Social Club for its environmentally-sound decision to produce a virtual parade journal that saves paper, energy and money,” said Peter McCartt, chair of the Eastchester Environmental Committee. “While the Eastchester Irish have always embraced the ‘wearing of the green’ to reflect the fields of their native land, we are pleased to have them join our efforts in the ‘saving of this green earth’ for future generations to enjoy. Save some green by being green, it just makes cents.”

Residents and interested advertisers are asked to visit the EIASC's journal website. A link to the 2014 journal will be posted on the EIASC website.
