BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Concordia College will host author Charli Devnet in the latest Books & Coffee event on Thursday.
The author will talk about her memoir, “The Snow Queen’s Daughter: My Life with Aspergers, a Tale from the Lost Generation,” at 7 p.m. in the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts on the Concordia campus.
The memoir describes growing up in the 1960s with undiagnosed Asperger's syndrome, in an era when the condition wasn't understood or even acknowledged.
Dealing with a lack of individual care and attention, Devnet talks about her survival, eventually becoming a student of history, politics and law, a tour guide at Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate in Sleepy Hollow, and an author.
A reception with book sales and signing will follow the presentation.
For more information on the event, contact Ellen de Saint Phalle, Concordia College director of community relations at 914-337-9300, ext. 2159.
