Artist Leads Discussion Of Bronxville Library's Art Collection

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- "Considering Landscape: A Tour of the Library’s Art Collection" will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 1:30-2:30 p.m., at the Bronxville Public Library.

Maura Doern Danko will lead a group discussion about select landscape paintings by American Artists found in the Bronxville Public Library’s art collection. She will discuss how landscape is utilized artistically, explore approaches in technique and provide introductory overview about the artists. 

Topics will include a focus on works that use times of the day depicted in landscape paintings in the Library’s collection. Both sessions will regard color issues, painting technique and approach to formal construction. 

Among artists discussed in the second session will be Bruce Crane and Franklin de Haven. 

Danko is a working artist and award-winning educator who teaches at Mercy College and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh/Online Division. Her work has been exhibited in numerous regional exhibitions, including a recent summer exhibit at The First Street Gallery.
