“The Unleashed Body” stars Heidy Tejeda -- who has affiliations at the New York Sports Club, Scarsdale Yoga Studio and is the owner of Pilates Unleashed in Tuckahoe -- as the host of the four-part DVD series, which was filmed entirely in Westchester.
Khris Tahmin, who served as an executive producer on the series and is the owner of the New York Media Group, noted that personal training has become all the rage in recent years as Americans seek to improve their health and fitness.
The DVD series is the first of its kind to have the option of following the routines to an “inspirational soundtrack” that includes motivational cues and encouragement, akin to a one-on-one training session.
“In the last several years, the vogue has been towards personal training to get in shape,” she said. “The American College of Sports Medicine cited personal training as one of the major fitness trends for 2014 as the percent of people working with a personal trainer has sky rocketed.”
“The Unleashed Body” marks the first release for the New York Media Group. It is the first in a line of fitness-related films that are in production. Tejeda could not be reached for comment after going on a vacation following the release of the series.
According to Tahmin, the DVDs are the first major line to feature a Westchester resident as host. All shooting on the series was completed with local talent from the area.
“This series is our first release, to be followed by other health and wellness titles also featuring talent living and working in Westchester,” Tahmin said. “We have a vibrant community of exceptionally gifted wellness experts in all major arenas of fitness to work with.”
