Optical Visit, which is owned by Optician Tonia DeMasi and managed by Essie Giraldi – both Eastchester natives – has become one of the most popular destinations in the county for patients who require vision care services or are looking for the latest designer frames and contact lenses.

DeMasi, who has 35 years of experience, started Optical Visit as a travelling optometry practice that made house calls to local residents. She opened her first store in Pelham and soon after relocated to New Rochelle 16 years ago.

Earlier this year, Optical Visit was named the “Best Optical Store” by Westchester County Magazine.

“The Chamber of Commerce is very excited to welcome Optical Visit to Eastchester,” Judy Fix, president of the Eastchester-Tuckahoe Chamber of Commerce, said. “They have a long history of great service in the area and they are a very welcome addition to the Chamber.”

Optical Visit will be helmed by Dr. Ellen Cutler, the on-premise optometrist, who has more than 25 years experience with an expertise in contact lens fitting. The location will provide comprehensive eye exams, personal assistance in finding proper eyeglass frames, and children’s eyewear.

“We are delighted they chose Eastchester for the location of the new business,” Eastchester Supervisor Anthony Colavita said. “Our residents place a priority on patronizing local service providers, so we wish them the best of luck.”
