This year’s sale is one of the biggest in history, with more than 50 businesses and organizations showcasing their wares outside their storefronts, with discounts up to 70 percent off regular prices.

Although the sale will proceed, rain or shine, the weather ultimately cooperated on Friday, even with clouds rolling through every so often, threatening to rain on the parade. The sale will continue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, the same time as the Park Place Street Fair.

Eastchester resident Jen Cooks, who said she has frequented the sale each of the last three years, said that even a little bit of rain wouldn’t dampen her spirits.

“I could spend hours just walking up and down the street, talking, getting lunch, you can make a full day out of it,” she said with her husband Will and daughter on Friday. “It got real dark before and I got a little anxious, but even if it rained for a little bit, I think it would still be a good time.”

The weather should again cooperate on Saturday, with the National Weather Service predicting sunny skies with temperatures reaching the 80s. Free parking is being provided in the Garden Avenue, Kraft Avenue and Avalon lots. There is also free parking available along Pondfield Road, Studio Arcade, Parkway Road and Palmer Avenue. Outside of those locations, all meters will be in effect.

On Saturday, the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce will have a table on Park Place with a complete directory of specials, free face painting, eco-friendly bags and coupons.
